I survived my PechaKucha

Well my first presentation on my thesis is done. One more to go. Oh and I need to finish the paper too :)

My advisor said it best last night " when people start this class their lives turn upside down everywhere". Oh how true!

Since starting this class my uncle has had a heart attack, I take him to all his appointments, I had my endoscopy and biopsies, my babysitter has moved on with her new job, my back up sitter is busy with new jobs too, we figured out my grandma has Alzheimer's, and I am hoping that is it!

I literally have Fridays to write this thing. I have created a hideout in our basement to write. The problem is the other two days a week the kids are in school and by the time I drop them off and get groceries it's time to pick them up. I have decided to not hit the gym for a bit (I can't without someone watching the kids where I go) and to back off running. I am hoping to get a lot more done in the next two weeks but I have more reading to do. After that I am hoping life can get back to normal.

I did forget, I am starting another class next week. The end is in sight.
I cannot wait until I am done.

Some results more to come

Well it turns out I have crazy reflux (this I knew), I had to have my esophagus stretched as it had narrowed ( my grandma has had to have this a few times too) had a few esophageal polyps removed and biopsies along with a few other biopsies.

My options have come down to surgery or keep taking drugs for it. I am sticking with the drugs until they come up with a better surgical answer as the complication and resolution rates are not great

And now I wait 2 weeks for the rest of. My results. Since having this done my reflux is about 50 times worse today and I can't eat. Oh we'll.

Now it's off to sleep in my still loopy state.

Tomorrow it is

Hopefully I will come home after my upper endoscopy knowing why I have such awful reflux. Stress, hernia, two-two year olds :)

I know stress is a factor. My uncle called me regarding all of his health insurance issues and now I will be spending my Thursday at a finance guy and tax guys office trying to help him figure this out. I should be finishing my PechaKucha presentation but that will just have to wait until night or I will wing it. I know my topic so that isn't the issue. I like to go in prepared. All of this gave me immediate heartburn.

Now off to sleep and no coffee in the morning. Torture!

I just have to laugh

At 3am. Both kids are up. Danyal is not happy and Sara has her kitties and the snowman all talking to each other. I have to say watching it on the monitor is pretty funny.

Here is to 3am laughs.

How to annoy your brother

It always cracks me up that they want to be near each other but can annoy the living daylights out of each other. Sara decided to play in a mat from when she was a baby oh it took me back!

What time is it?

Yes, it is 2:30am and I am up. This is the aftermath of the kids being sick for two weeks and coughing all through the night. My sleep is so off I have been getting up at 9:30, 11:30, 1:30, 3:30, and 4:30am.  I just cannot sleep. I am hoping they are on the mend as they haven't woken up tonight but I can't sleep now. I am sure my lack of running hasn't help as that is usually my cure for insomnia.  Good thing I will be going to the gym today.

Poor buddies had a rough night last night before bed.  We were in the play room and buddies thought it was fun to walk towards me with his eyes closed.  Yes, this had disaster written all over it.  He ended up walking into the desk with his eye and has a lovely shiner to show for it.  I gave him an elmo ice pack to put on it but all he did was put the ice pack on all different body parts.  The kid is too cute.

Both kids have really taken off at school.  Sara has always been SUPER shy and quiet letting Danyal do most of the talking.  Since they have been in school Danyal has said up to 15 word sentences and Sara sings and talks all the time.  She now also warms up to people much quicker, and both are so much better about separating from me.  It is funny we get home from school and they want to go back.  I take this as a great sign and they are learning a ton. They come home singing new songs every time.

Now off to try and sleep. Not sure when that will happen.

A busy week

The week has been full and today is no exception.  This morning my mom and I were going to drop the kids off at school and have a nice lunch out. That didn't happen.  Instead we ended up at my uncle's house so I could get all of his paperwork to make sure his hospital bills get paid.  I am ok with that as it takes a priority.  Anything to keep him from having another heart attack! He never really had to deal with issue like this before and has no idea where to start.  Ahh, the joy of raising my family (at all ages).

I have no idea what is going on with the kids but it has to be the combination of weather, school, allergies, and flu mist.  Ever since then they have both been sick and not sleeping still at night or during the day.  Today they finally napped.  I am hoping for improvement as 2-3 weeks of this is getting old.

One more class is done for school.  This leaves me with three to go and a fun PechaKucha presentation to get done in the next week.  I cannot wait until I am done with my big paper!

As for my September running stats I will get those up soon.  With everything that has been going on I actually haven't run (until this morning at 4:30am) for a week and I have only made it to the gym once in 2-3 weeks. Yikes, better get back on the horse.
