We have a crawler

Look mom, no hands!

Big girl!

Hi Mom!
I haven't been able to get any pictures of him crawling because I need to finish babyproofing.  This seems almost a stupid thing being that we are moving soon and packing. Hence, I think I will just pack up everything instead.

10 month pictures

I am so in love with my kids!  I love just hanging out with them and seeing what they do next.  Sara has a new word it is "Oh!"  Grandma is trying to get her to say uh-oh.  I am not ready for that word.

Grandma is with us after her reconstruction surgery and all is well. She feels great and loves watching the kids play.

It has been great to have Mr. Husband home for the last 2 weeks but it has been a rough two weeks for him.  He has had to play Mr. Mom 24 hours a day while I recover and Grandma recovers.

Here is hoping for another sunny day to play in the backyard!

Double Digits!

We have made it and from here on out it only gets easier, right?! Last summer seems so far especially since it still feels like winter. By this time last year it was hot, humid, and I was swollen! I look back wondering how things would all play out. I never could have imagined that 10 months later life could be this fantastic. I now know how parents fall totally in love with their kids. You guys are just amazing little creatures, a blend of mommy and daddy.

I do have to add that tonight has been an off night. Sara will not sleep and Danyal is out like a light. Twins! They always change it up on you!

In honor of the 10 months here is a small recap of your personalities and our favorite moments!

Sara - Sara-bear-a
You came into this world punching! Literally, your little fist punch through my uterine wall to wave hi to the nurses.
My baby girl you have had issues with reflux and the helmet, yet nothing fazes you. You are always happy!
You sleep! Your head hits the pillow at 6:30 p.m. and you wake up at 6 a.m.  Amazing!
Thumper - you thump your legs in your sleep! It is cute but wakes up your parents.
Sara you are daddy's girl all the way. The minute you hear daddy's car you get excited and if he leaves the room, oh the sadness!
You have your 2 bottom teeth and the top two are close behind.
When asked what you loved about being a baby you will say sleep and food. Auntie has nicknamed you the garbage disposal. You love food!
You still love to lay on your playmat sometimes to just relax and look at the toys. This always makes mommy teary remembering when we had just brought you home.
At dinner I usually sing the song "Sara" by Starship to you.
You are finally trying to crawl, but you are far more interested in pulling up on everything. I think you will be walking soon!
You have become attached to your brother and like to be near him now.
BOOOMMMM (with flapping lips) - this is your word for something is wrong it is so cute.
You are pretty content to play by yourself sometimes.
Your first snowfall was 11/13/10, there were many blizzards(12/11/10 first blizzard)  this winter, record snowfall, and the snow stayed forever it seems!
You love art time!
You make a noise like Chewbaca it makes everyone laugh!
You loved the Como Zoo!
You love Auntie Amy's necklaces
Cuddling with grandma Linda always puts you to sleep.
You love mommy's water bottle

Danyal - Dino's
Oh those shaking Dino fists in the hospital, hence the nickname Dino's.
You are a mommy's boy. I feel bad  for your future wife already.  The giggles that come out of your mouth when we play along with the squeals and singing are music to my ears.
When asked in the future what you didn't like about being an infant you will say sleep and eating. You don't want to hold your own bottle, you gag on real food, and oh trying to get you to sleep!  It takes 1 -2 hours to get you to sleep.
You do like peaches and mango's. I can get you to eat if I put peach or mango in anything.
You have 8 teeth! 4 on top and 4 on bottom.
You love when I sing to you - Danyal is a little man is a little man he is.
You love to army crawl everywhere! You have just started pulling up.
Danyal you love to make noises that throw your sister into fits of giggles. It is amazing.
You love to chase your sister around in your walkers and create traffic jams.
You always pull on your left ear. We are figuring out this means you are bored and frustrated.
You are pretty content to play by yourself sometimes.
You also love art time!
The Muppets Bohemian Rhapsody is your favorite.
You are love Auntie Libby's painted nails.
The shirt that gave Danyal his nickname

1 day old Sara
10 month Sara

10 Month Danyal

You love daddy's empty diet Pepsi bottle. It is your favorite toy!

Mom and Dad
Have lost their dining room to toys. Hence, the next house has a playroom!
I have no trunk space left to get groceries it is all taken up by strollers.
Getting to bed at a decent time means how much sleep can we get before someone wakes up.
We have never been so happy before! Adding you two to our lives was the best thing that has ever happened! We cannot wait to see how things change in the upcoming years.
We may barely remember the first 10 months as it was a haze of sleepless nights but I wouldn't change it for the world. You two are our world!

I am posting this a few hours early.  When the kids turned 6 months Grandma had a mastectomy which was a savior! Now they turn 10 months in a few hours and Grandma has her next surgery. Hence, I am just a few hours early.

P.S. you both love Baily's tail.

9 month appointment at almost 10 months

Here are the Stats
Danyal is 18.10 lbs and 27 3/4 inches
Sara is 17.2 lbs and 27 inches

I cannot believe my babies are so big! They talk to each other, interact when playing, and love to be near each other. Sara can often be found cracking up at whatever Danyal has to say (or squeal).

As for my recovery, LIBERATION!! All I can say is that after 15 years of pain life is amazing. I feel great now after the surgery and the nagging pain I have had for 15 years is gone.  I feel like life is just starting now. I will be able to work out pain free, walk the lakes and in general, enjoy life. I am so excited for this new chapter once I get the clearance from my doctor.  I feel that my kids are the ones who will benefit the most. Their mom can be so much more active. I would go on about how great I feel but you will all think I am nuts.  People who live in chronic pain don't talk about it much (people think you are nuts, even doctors).  Once you have liberation life is brand new.

One last note on the kids. I bought a new toy for them and it is great and quiet!  A fellow twin mom had it on her blog and it is a toy I have been looking for. The B. Zany Zoo.  Target and Amazon have it and it is a throw back toy. I love it and so do the kids.

Bub-bye!!

So long uterus! All I can say is it was a hard decision and day 1 out of surgery it was the right one. The pain I have lived with for years is gone. No more pills, shots, or surgery for this. Right now I have the normal pain under the shoulders but it is so odd to wake up and realize the endometriosis pain is gone, no more! I cannot even explain it, it is just odd but great.

Everything went off great minus one small detail. A nurse gave me way to much dilaudid after surgery. Even my husband who is a Physician questions why they wanted to give me so much. He mentioned to them that his patients who weigh more than I get half the dose they wanted to give me. Needless to say, it caused issues. My oxygen alarm was going off for hours, I would fall asleep and not breath deep enough, and oh the dry heaves for hours. It took 8 hours for the dosage to wear off and it was awful! No amount of Zofran helped with the nausea. That is when you know it is bad.

Finally, the husband had to intervene and tell the nurse to ask for a half dose moving forward. Odd that they had to get a prescription to lower a dose of narcotics.

That is finally all over and I am home with the babes. I cannot pick them up or hold them, but at least I can sit on the floor and play with them. I missed them like crazy. That was my first night away from them. Now to pass the next few weeks, pack up, move, and play with the kiddos.

Need hormone control!

Ok, maybe it is because of the impending removal of "the uterus" but man I am hormonal around my kids today! The thought that I will never carry super cute babies again, because I have to admit our kids are so cute! (Then again I am the mommy). I am so glad that I videotaped the kids moving in the belly and took so many pictures while pregnant and through their first 10 months so far. What would we do without Iphones!

I was moving their playmat which they haven't used in a while to just chill and I started crying that my babies are getting so big at almost 18 and 20 lbs. I miss my 5 and 6 lb peanuts when I was trying to figure out being a mom and what it meant for the first time.

I may never have more kids but I love the two I have. At least moving forward they can have a more functional and hopefully pain free mom who isn't always doubled over in pain. I am guessing each parent goes through this when they decide to stop expanding their family. In more ways than one I am just so thankful that I even have these two.

On a side note since we are moving about 10 minutes away from the lakes I took my camera out this morning to Lake Calhoun at 5:30 am for a few pictures.

I'm so excited and I just can't hide it

Yes I have this song in my head for a reason. After the last year and our house becoming overrun we are finally moving!!! We are not moving far about 13 blocks but into a different school district which is good.

After going through the last year and mom will be staying with us again for her next surgery we really need a guest room. Now when she stays with us either she gets to share a room with the snoring Dino boy or daddy takes him to the basement. In the basement daddy has to sleep on a futon and Dino's in a play yard and then he doesn't sleep.

So this change excites me. To top it off each of the kiddos will have their own normal size rooms and I can decorate them! Sara will not have to be stuffed in a 7x7 room where the radiator takes up about a good 3 feet. Ugh! Our current house was bought when we were dating so we had no concept of the future. 6 years later it is time to move. The most exciting part of all is........we will have a GARAGE!!! A real garage to put a car in.

The last part of the house that surprised me was that we choose a rambler. After hauling the kids up and down the stairs all day I long for one level living. We close in just about a month. Fun times to come!

No more babies here

As of next Wednesday there will officially be no more babies for me. Not that I wouldn't love another one (I know I am crazy), but the endometriosis has beaten me. Hello partial hysterectomy.

The Dr.'s wanted me to get the Lupron shot (hell no!), since the pill is having no affect at all. They offered ablation but that won't resolve the pain, it just might lessen the crazy bleeding (which the pill doesn't control at all). The next option was back to laparoscopic surgery every so often to control the pain. Ugh, really?

I figure at this point we are lucky to have two healthy, beautiful kids and I will take that.

On a different note all of the years of EMT classes in high school paid off. For some reason my son will not eat ANY type of solid food. He gages and then chokes. Needless to say the Heimlich maneuver has been pulled out a few times and today was the worst yet! It resulted in massive amounts of vomit and a very scared little guy. I guess we will stick with baby food until we see his doctor next.

Changes

Well there are some changes. Danyal now crawls (not ready for this!). Sara goes backwards and is becoming so talkative! On top of this I am sure you can all see her new accessory. She is a helmet baby now. She has had a flat head since the day she was born and her head grew sideways more than back. Her head looked a little like a football. Now in recent pictures after 3-4 weeks her head shape has changed so much! Many days it is a good things she has a helmet, she loves to fall backwards.

Oh we shall see what changes happen now. Sara is 17.4 lbs and Danyal is 19.6 lbs. They are getting big!
