No way to help

I met my best friend 15 years ago this month during an awful college class.  There is a lot more to that story, but that is for another time.  Since I have known her I know that every January she has crazy insomnia and bouts of depression.  I know there is nothing I can say or do to help and it kills me. I talked to her last night and it broke my heart, she is not in a good spot. I just hope she remembers how much we love her. Me, the kids, and even my husband who though she doesn't know it, he values he knowledge, love, time, and caring and how much she brings to our family. He even agrees how she is their Aunt. I also swear that my son is half her child with certain mannerism's.

I just want her to remember on her bad days we love her. I know there is nothing else I can say or do to help. I am here for you always.

I have found a new love

No it isn't human either.  It is called a Fitbit.  Wierd name I know but it is amazing!  Being at home with the kids my sense of what do I really do each day for exercise is off.  So I decided since I joined myfitnesspal.com I would try a fitbit as they work together.  I have to say, I LOVE it!  It tracks my steps, stairs, calories, miles, and the biggest one my sleep! After looking at my sleep report from last night I know why I felt like a mac truck hit me.  The kids slept all night but my sleep was restless and the fitbit tracked it!  So amazing. Even better is that it is wireless so if I am near my computer it will transfer the data.   Anyone looking to rev up their workouts or just being mindful of them I say go for it.  It has given me the push I need to get moving again.

On another note the kids turn 18 months this week on Thusday!  I am hoping to put together a post.  Why is it that everytime I turn my back my daughter (aka monkey) is climbing everything! (yes, that is the 1970's Sesame Street playhouse she is standing on).

I wish someone had told me

How awful the MMRshot is! Danyal has had almost every complication. To top it off I have seen the kids doctor quite a bit this week. Never good. Sara has not slept through the night in 3 months! She coughs all the time so I took her back in. It is one of 3 things. Asthma, reflux still, or a lingering virus ( he is doubting this). So tonight we start with an inhaler to see if it helps her sleep. That and mommy and daddy need some sleep! I have had 4 hours of sleep in 2 days. Ugh!

My bff's sister had a baby girl this week and I am happy to say I managed a few minutes of baby cuddles. Oh how i love them! Ms. Chelsea does have the biggest, cutest, pinkest cheeks I have ever seen! Love it!

By the way did anyone else make the big switch to google + only to find you never go there?

My poor sick man can still melt hearts!
Otherwise off to make dinner!

Food rut

Do you ever feel like you are stuck in a food rut?  I am currently in grilled cheese, blueberry, watermelon, banana, mac & cheese, chicken, chicken nugget hell.  Oh these are not the things I eat.  No, these are the things my kids seem to want to ONLY eat lately.  I did forget the avocado, lest we forget Mr. Avocado. We go through at least one of those a day.  So needless to say I have been scrounging the Internet for weekly and monthly meal planning calendars. I think this will be my only way out of the rut.  Here is to hoping!

Burgh Baby said it best about Good Intentions

Burgh Baby - Good Intentions

I read this blog post this morning and cried. Burgh baby said it best. Sometimes other peoples lives are not meant to be pried into. Sometimes it is best not to ask probing, personal, invasive questions. Just something to keep in mind for the day.

Our Christmas Visitor

As the kids have grown I am noticing I have less time to post. Hence, I am posting at 6am from bed.  They are just little balls of constant energy and cuteness these days.

We have  so many teeth in little mouths.  Danyal has 15 and Sara has 14.  Maybe this means we can get a slight sanity break before the second molars come in. Now there's a thought!

Christmas was great lots of family, food, poker, and a plumber.  Yup, I said a plumber.  We woke up on Christmas Eve (my uncle was born on 12/25 many years ago so we celebrate early) to my mom saying "why is there water in your basement?" Um, What?!  After a lot of calls as some places were closed someone arrived and stayed until 9pm working on our "issue".  It turned out to be tree roots in the main line.  As I have since learned he didn't use the "big machine" as a week later we had the toilet back up. Oh my it is 9pm and no toilets!  We had a different company come out and the noise was so loud! He did the real work that the first guy did not.  Luckily, we never had water for more than 30 minutes downstairs.  It made for a memorable Christmas.  Christmas without toilets.  Lucky for us there is a new house being built next door so in a dire emergency people could use the porta-potty. :-)

Sara will read anything!

and climb in everything!

Cheese!

Mommy look how high I can climb when  I think you aren't looking
