Fun in the sun
What can I say. I love it that they always hug each other! I should clarify. She did tackle him a few times too :)

The Neverending Story
Now just imagine the music. I can never think of the movie title without the music. That is how these last two weeks feel. Here I thought we were on the mend. Then last night Dino's arms were crazy masses of bumps and redness. Cortizone helped. Then he woke up this morning and it was all over his poor face!
I thought maybe it was from the load of laundry I did using Oxiclean to get out the "puke" for a better word. I washed every, single, item, of clothing and bedding. He still woke up from his nap with more hives! Luckily his Dr. is awesome and I sent him a picture and he said, it is hives and it's still a part of the Hand, foot, and mouth! OMG!!!! HFM is an awful awful thing!!
I am hoping a few days of benadryl will help him. It might explain why he was up again all night last night. Here is to hoping for a night of sleep!
On a running note. I made it in to see my trainer today. I need to figure out how to replicate my running with the time I spend with her. I did an easy effortless 1.4miles in about 14 minutes. We were talking the whole time and it was easy!!! Hm, I guess I will keep working at it. I also can't stand the thought of putting on long sleeves to run in the early morning yet so I invested in arm warmers. I have to say they are purple and cute too. This winter I think is going to be trial and error for how much and what clothing to wear outside for runs. I have some dry-fit for the first layer and a jacket for over that. I can't think about anything more. I am not ready for snow.
I think every parent needs the book listed below.

You would never know
Sara has this illness until you see her spots. She is really hanging in there like a champ.
We did find something everyone would eat last night. They LOVE egg drop soup! I am happy to see them eat as danyal is way to skinny.
Now off I write that last paper for this class.

I spoke to soon
Well it appears Dino's is close to his normal noisy self. I thought Sara wouldn't get it and I was wrong. Now she is covered in polka dots. To top it off I am getting worse as we speak. I might end up going in myself to see if I have strep.
I do have to say Sara tends to take illness and all of the hard things a bit better. That poor girl had a rough start and has always taken it in stride. Between the extreme exorcist vomiting (fyi; baby vomit + soy formula = wrecked room and board chair), helmet, starting off in the SCU (special care unit), and getting every illness she really doesn't put up to much of a fuss. When she has 104 and higher temps she has a harder time and then just wants me to sleep on the floor with her. So here is to hoping this is the worst it gets for her.
I am so glad to be done with my current class. I have never been so frustrated. It is a brand new class, with a new professor who lack technology skills and the ability to communicate in a timely fashion. This came back to bite her today. We have been rehashing a paper topic for weeks. Hence, I finished my paper a week early and sent it to her saying if you have issues tell me and I will write the research paper on a different topic. Now, insert crickets chirping {here}. I never heard back from her, I figures it was fine. In class today while doing group work she reading my paper. Turns out she responded to everyone but me and apologized to me. That she does disagree with my chosen Change Theory Method but it was her fault in not responding. All I can say is, I am done and I still have my A. On to my next few classes. Four to go and I am done.

Finding my zones
Once everyone gets on the mend (soon I hope) I think I am finally going to have a VO2 test done at the U of MN. I know about what my heart rate zones are but I would like to see if they can be more clearly defined. My hope is to do this before my 10k on September 1st.
Today was one of those days. I haven't slept in a week, buddies didn't sleep last night, and I didn't realize a bunch of contractors were stopping by to fix the last of the kitchen from the fire in April. No one napped either. So it has been a long day. Not being to leave the house makes it even longer. I mean is a 5 hour window necessary? Can't we get down to 2??

Getting closer
Well at least the poor guy doesn't have a fever and finally ate something..barely but still. It's food. Last night was a long night again with buddies up every 45 minutes. This reminded me of what it was like the first 6 weeks with the kids, they were up every 30 minutes!
I have to say I love summer, however for once I am ready for the fall. I am ready to run outside in cool weather, put on warm sweaters and Halloween. I mean really? Forget Christmas, it's all about Halloween for me. I haven't started to think about the kids costumes but I should.
I meant to run today but after last night I opted to black out for 2 hours and take a nap, and buddies even napped for once and didn't wake up crying. To top it off he is speaking in his normal very wordy sentences so I feel better. Hopefully tomorrow I will find a little time to get in five miles and call the week done. Even I feel awful. Everyone in our house has a portion of what Danyal has. I have the fever, chills, headache, my husband has the rash, and Sara had the fever and that was it.
Here is to hoping for a better weekend and finishing this darn paper someday! Now off to try and sleep for an hour before he gets up. The routing has been he starts to get up at 9:45pm. Playing the piano has been the only thing that makes them happy. :)

Such misery
I mean wow! The poor kid looks like he is covered in polka dots from head to toe. His throat hurts so bad he isn't talking or singing. Very un-danyal! He didn't eat a thing until 7:30pm he finally ate some ice cream. I think he is down at least a pound if not two and his skinny body needs all the weight it can get.
The kids were supposed to start a daycare/school one day a week to hang out with other kids more. I am already seeing my bad planning. At this rate danyal can't go and I won't drop off just Sara. They have never been separated and Sara would Lose. Her. Head! She is attached to Dino's. To top it off I was going to write my 3 papers on Friday and start using Fridays as my homework/long run days. Um yea, I guess not. One paper is due Saturday and two are due on Monday. I guess I will get them all done tomorrow and stop procrastinating.
Here is to hoping for more sleep. Cause it's gonna be a long long weekend.

Everyone is sick
We made our trek into the doctor and were given a name. It wasn't strep. It wasn't eat infections. It is a version of hand foot and mouth. Gross!! Poor danyal has such a bad rash and his throat is just raw. Sara is just starting to get it. This is gonna be a long week. To top it off I am even sick.
I think the cutest thing of the day was Sara wanted Dino's to sit next to get. "come on Dino's, come on Dino's, sit down". They are each others best friends.
So far, not as bad of a night. Dino's only woke up every hour needing comfort and cuddles to get back to sleep. He did just ask if he could watch Dinosaur Train. I had to inform him that the dinosaurs are sleeping. Upon hearing this he requested to go back to bed. Whew! This means he is sleeping and not yelling for 6-7 hours straight tonight. Here is to hoping for happier kids today.

July Stats and a reminder to learn CPR
Total Miles - 58.42 miles
Total running - 11 hours
Total running sessions - 18
Total Strength Training sessions - 7
Total time Strength Training 5.25 hours
For August I would love to break the 60 mile mark for running. That was my goal for July and I came close. There are three weeks left of August and I am going to try to get back into the 2x a week with my trainer and 3x a week running. I need to start ramping up my milage for my runs but I am stuck on how to do this. Last week a lot of my runs were only 5K's as I was pressed for time. I am sick of running the lakes and need new trails. I have run near my house now but I didn't enjoy it that much. I am going to try and scout new trails. If anyone has any suggestions let me know.
It appears that the kids will be going to the doctor tomorrow as we have passed the three day mark and both still have 104 fevers. Strep? Ear infections?
On an additional note; a fellow twin mama had a very scary incident and reminded us all about water safety. Please learn CPR. My mom lives on a lake and this scared the daylights out of me. My heart broke for this fellow twin mama and made me cry. I could never imagine going through this.

Sick time ='s lots of laying around
It appears the bug has moved onto Sara. She only has a slight fever, unlike danyal who had the 104 fever. He is starting to come around but he was still up 4 times last night.
With all the sickness going around I never got a run in yesterday. By the time I was thinking about running it was 7pm and I felt the bug too.
I managed to do 6.2 miles this morning while I still felt good. I have a feeling with all the rain today we will keep drawing, building forts for the dinosaurs and everyone will nap. This is about as close as I can come to a lazy Sunday.
I will be posting my July running stats soon. Not great but not bad. This month has been awful. With all the house stuff I really have worked out much in 2 weeks. I have only been able to do short 3 mile runs and 1 to 0 days at Steele. Yikes! Must get back in the saddle. Here is to hoping I kicked started that this morning.

The bug is still here
I thought we were on the mend yesterday. Lo and behold I was woken up at 5am by crazy shrieking by Dino's. The poor kid was sweating, soaked, shivering, and miserable. I really hope that was him just breaking the fever. We loaded the kids in the car and hit Starbucks. They love to go in the car in the morning.
So far Sara is good. Knock on wood. Then again she has been sick a lot more than he had in their two short years.
It finally feels real that our old house is gone. You know it was odd to say good-bye but then again, we haven't lived there for almost a year.
Today I think there needs to be a nice run as its great outside and lots of time with Mr. Sicky. Tons of cuddles and some Dinosaur Train? Don't mind if I do.

Poor buddies
He was in a mood all morning. Well post naptime the answer was clear. A temp of 104. Here is to hoping the virus makes a quick round and skips Sara (I doubt it). As is normal I am sure a few long nights are ahead of me. I have to add. My husband went in to work as a favor for someone. He ended up working the whole day to be greeted by danyal throwing up all over him. Parenthood.
My Dr. placed me back on the pill to help with my endometriosis flare ups and it isn't working! It is actually far far worse. If it keeps up at this rate I win an ultrasound in a few weeks and in two months. I really don't like being a woman somedays. Woman issues suck because there is no one clear answer or fix. I was explaining some of the issues to the nurse and she was perplexed to say the least. I just want to run, and run pain free. Is that to much to ask?
On a Sara note, she found my old running shoes and 4 hours later still has them on next runner of the house.

Goodbye house
You were a great house and today was bittersweet. I will admit I cried knowing that today, 2 days early we handed over the keys.
I cried thinking about the memories that happened there;
The tree that was planted on our wedding day,
The tree that we planted when we brought the kids home,
Dating my husband,
Getting engaged,
Getting married,
Laying on the couch as my BFF watched my contractions at 24 weeks,
The kids first steps,
The kids first birthday,
Seeing my mom through cancer,
Finishing my first master's,
3 foot surgeries,
Traveling through about 14 countries,
Traveling all over the US.
You were a great house. Thanks for keeping us warm, dry, and safe.

Where did the weekend go?
So we are usually pretty busy on the weekends. This weekend just flew by! Saturday we moved the last of our furniture from our old house ( wow this feels real finally!). We managed to clean up our patio furniture after sitting outside neglected for a year. It was finally put to use last night to have a glass of wine after a great run.
We managed a couple of hours on Saturday to hit the uptown art fair and actually found two great pieces. One just hit me the minute I saw it. Chateau de Chenonceau in the Loire Valley. I remember standing in the room where the painting is 20 weeks pregnant. It was a bit surreal.
Yesterday we had family in town from IL and huge family pictures. Afterwards it turned into bouncy house craziness. I have to say I kind of want a bouncy house now! For me!
After that family time with the kids, a Target run, and a run and wine to close the day. Overall, a busy and good weekend.

Busy as a bee
Or wasp in my case. I found not one but three wasps nests in our backyard. Anyone who knows me knows I run screaming like a 3 year old from bee's. This was different. This is where my kids play so I knew I had to suck it up and kill the bee's. Now to chip out the honeycomb nests!
Last weeks awful race and trying to get ready for our house closing this week meant I didn't work out until yesterday. After a quick drink with a girlfriend she convinced me to suck it up and jump back on the racing horse. It was a decent 4.75 miles with two mimosas in me. Oops! So I feel better and I am going to try and watch my eating and see what is triggering my flare ups. I am not sure if it's certain foods or the endo. It feel like the endo but the food could be aggravating it.
Now off to a big family get together.
