Running free

I am just 6 weeks past the partial "H".  I have to say that life has changed for the better in so many ways.  I get to wake up each morning and not have to worry about pills anymore, if I will have pain for the day, and how it will affect me.

Since the "H" I have taken to trying to run again to see if being pain free makes a difference. It really does! I haven't run in years partially because of my foot, partially because of pain.  I am now on week 2 day 3 of couch to 10K and I feel great. Oddly, I haven't felt this great in over 15 years.

So here is to hoping for getting back in shape. I pray that my daughter will never have to live in daily pain like I did. If she does I will surely be more proactive now that most doctors are convinced it isn't just "in your head".

Rain rain go away

All I can say is I am ready for Summer to start anytime now. I feel like I am living in a hazy state.  Oh wait, we are! I would love 80's every day, walks with the kids, playing in the pool.  Here is to hoping for warm days in July!!

I should mention the kids had their first swim class and they did fantastic!  Both kids had their faces in the water and there were no tears!  I am not sure where they get this from as I plug my nose still and their dad can't swim.  I sure hope my kids turn out to be little fishes.

Walk through day!

Today is the day we get to do the final walk through on our new house! I cannot wait! Even though we close tomorrow we won't be moving in right away as we have a few updates to do to the house. I will post some before, during and after pictures of the process.

As for yesterday it was a big day for Sara.  Exactly eight weeks to the day after she started wearing her helmet she is done!  In that eight weeks time she has made such improvements with her head shape but in other areas too.  She was just starting to sit up well and now she sits up, crawls, pulls up, can stand unassisted, and take a few steps while holding onto a finger.  It is amazing what changes happen in an eight week time period.

Since we have already had a 103 degree day in MN I am hoping for cooler temperatures to get the kiddos out for a few walks soon!

5 days!

And then we close on the new house and start remodeling. In reality we won't be able to move in for another 2-3 months and I cannot wait! Day by day we become more squished in our current house.

Oddly, we have lived near Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis for 6 1/2 years and it is kind of "our spot". For walks, how we spent our first few years, near where we met. Today however I had a realization, I am ready to leave this area. Last night the neighbors had a crazy party and I almost called the cops but someone beat me to it. Then today I tried to take the kids to Calhoun for a walk and the motorcycles were so loud I can home. I am an old codger now.  Give me peace and quiet where I don't worry about people waking up the kids or me for that fact! I guess time does fly when you are having fun  in an area but there comes a point when you know you have moved into being a full adult when you want to leave an area as it is no longer meeting your needs.

Sara finally getting a nap!
The kids have had a fun week with playing in the pool for the first time and a very short walk in their new stroller. Ok, moms new stroller to keep in her car as we are moving out of the infant car seats very soon.
