Let the games begin

I will begin with last night. I had a blast! My best friend and I went to the Nordstrom's after hours sale. That place was insane! I have never seen so much Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Dior, and D & C packed into one place. The people watching was great and the hot chocolate was even better.

Now onto today. It must be the fact that I officially hit five weeks or into the sixth as it would really be. I feel like CRAP! I figured, breakfast that will help. Nope, not one bit. I am as dizzy as can be but luckily not feeling the nausea yet. I say yet as I am just waiting for what is to come. I will be on a cruise ship over Christmas and I am hoping I can keep everything at bay past that time.

Happy Monday! One more week until my ultrasound.

Group Projects

I am not a fan of those. It seems that one or two people end up doing most of the work and the rest get to slide by. I have a huge group project for class, and there are five people in our group. As it appears I have the most knowledge of Powerpoint I have been compiling the information from everyone all week. What a disaster!

If you are unsure of your product don't send it to me until it is the final draft! I do not want to update your issues on the powerpoint six times!

I just had to vent. I would rather write a 25 page paper any day, on anything than do group work. I know you have to be a team player, but sometimes the players are inadequate and need to go back to the farm teams!

Good thoughts..

You know those days when you have an almost evil looking grin and no one can figure out what the hell you are smiling about. I love those days. Sometimes it is the smallest thought from back in the day or a current event that makes you smile.

Today is a grinning day. I have had a great weekend catching up on movies I have wanted to see such as Angels & Demons, New Moon, The Blind Side, and Four Christmases. Among with taking my little cousin shopping for Christmas. Wow, the girl can shop at 13, but it was great to spend time with her. She also told me I had style when choosing outfits for her to try on, it made me laugh.

On to the start of a new week and finding all the more reasons to get a big cheesy grin and make people wonder, "What in the hell is she smiling about?" Remember smiles are infectious and can brighten everyone's day.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Giving thanks this year seems as though there is a lot to be thankful for. There has been loss for my family and my husband's. However, our extended family has been given one of the largest gifts ever. (More to come on this later around Dec. 1st).

I am so thankful for my husband who puts up with my hormonal mood swings, lets me travel with my mother, and for my family for just being who they are.

One thing that I wish for but will never receive is that my father could have met my husband. He would have loved this man as much as I do. Even my husband always wishes he could have met my dad and mentions this on occasion. I know my dad can see him, I just hope he is smiling.

Happy Thanksgiving Dad, Grandma, and Grandpa we miss you.

Team Jacob!

Ok, so I finally saw New Moon. After watching it all I can think is creepy, pale, soulless, blood sucking vampire...OR tan, buff, living, werewolf. This seems like a no brainer to me, but then again I am not the author.

The movie was fantastic on all levels but my mother and I couldn't help but laugh. The movie theatre was filled with all middle age women whose kids were in school. It was a funny sight to see, and no men in sight either.

Being that I have not read the books I will dive into that after I finish my other favorite series of vampire books. If you are ever looking for more adult vampire books I highly recommend The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J.R. Ward...it truly is an addiction once you start! Give it a try, I dare you.

My happy place

I have found something to make me laugh and smile today. My best friend to the rescue, you know who you are. No matter how bad of a day she can always make me laugh with a crazy (and I mean truly crazy) work antic, a great picture, or just remembering the good old days when we were young and crazy! The best part is that my best friend is coming home from her latest work assignment, so bring on the Chino Latino's

Here is a pic from a girls weekend many years ago, with my best friend walking on a Florida beach. Oddly, I met my husband a few days after this picture was taken of my best friend. Great times!

Back from France, with a friend.

Well what can I say..France was wonderful. We traveled a lot through Paris, Lyon, Nice, Saint Tropez, Cannes, Dijon, Blois, Amoise, those are just a few of the places.

I ended up with the H1N1 . They figure I picked up the little friend while stuck on airplanes for 10+ hours. One has to love that recycled air quality.

My plan is to lay low and just enjoy the couch for the next few days. My poor husband has decided the basement might be safer for him to not catch this. Let's hope this passes quick!

Info-mercials are like crack.

Why is it that we can turn on the tv, nothing is on and yet sometimes we just don't turn it off. It is a gross rainy day and I saw a commercial for the In-styler. For some reason, my brain right away thinks "hmm I could do that and cut twenty minutes of time off every day." In reality I realize I could never get that thing to work on the back of my head.

Through my many years since college I will admit that I have bought breadmakers, Ta-bao, and other crap that just accumulates in a corner. I have learned, turn the tv off, change the channel, or just enjoy how stupid the people look in the commercial. If I really want it I am sure it will be in my personal heaven (Target) in two months.

Skinny pants need to go!

I have to start by saying I hate the word skinny! All I can think of is Fiona Apple back in the 90's and that was the meaning of the word skinny. All of the 80's styles that have come back as skinny the jeans, the leggings, the long skinny tops...give me bootcut! I have a pair of skinny leggings but I reserve them mostly for being at home. I will never have the chicken legs. I danced for 20+ years and I have "thick" calves. Meaning, I pray for the day when I can wear knee high boots that fit over my calves. I think this is why I am such a fan of the boot cut, I don't have to try and rip the pants off my calves.

As for the future...I would really love you Hollywood celebrities if you would please, please, please bring back the everyday bootcut leggings. The great ones from the 90's that can be work with long sweaters, a great pair of black heeled boots, AND fit over my calves. I have now made it my one woman mission to accomplish this. Join the campaign ladies!

I love Friends and Tetris

I have no idea why but there is always something comforting in watching old episodes of Friends. Maybe it reminds me that I was not always a coffee addict, of the college years, or that there used to be a great shows on that were not reality TV. Then again, I am already waiting for the next season of Biggest Loser to start.

Why is it that all of the best Tetris games are for the Playstation 1? My Tetris was acting up and I had to resort to ebay to find an old version. To make it the best day ever I also found the Next Tetris and Frogger. Needless to say I will be sitting on my couch for a few days this winter. Now if only fall would hurry up I would have a reason to hang out and play my games in the house more.
